It's strange starting a manga with Volume 43 and while at times this story did feel a bit like the post-credits "where are they now" scene of a high school movie， it really didn't matter。 This was a heck of a fun read！ The volleyball action was well drawn; there was detailed explanation of volleyball skills， strategy， and tactics; and there was a lot of history and fun interplay between the characters。 Sure it's a bit of an unrealistic plot and every character has super manga levels of skill， bu It's strange starting a manga with Volume 43 and while at times this story did feel a bit like the post-credits "where are they now" scene of a high school movie， it really didn't matter。 This was a heck of a fun read！ The volleyball action was well drawn; there was detailed explanation of volleyball skills， strategy， and tactics; and there was a lot of history and fun interplay between the characters。 Sure it's a bit of an unrealistic plot and every character has super manga levels of skill， but it was a heck of a fun ride。 Now I just have to go back and read the first 42 volumes。**Thanks to the artist， publisher， and NetGalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Shoyo's time in Brazil comes to an end and he's on his way back to Japan to play pro volleyball。 He joins the MSBY Black Jackals （we got Hinata Shoyo， Atsumu Miya， Kotaro Bokuto， and Kiyoomi Sakusa the germiphobe） and his first game just so happens to be against the Schweiden Alders （they got Tobio Kageyama， Ushijima Wakatoshi， and Korai Hoshiumi）。 Familiar fan favorites are on both sides， but the biggest rivalry is between Hinata and Kageyama， finally on opposite sides of the court after 5 year Shoyo's time in Brazil comes to an end and he's on his way back to Japan to play pro volleyball。 He joins the MSBY Black Jackals （we got Hinata Shoyo， Atsumu Miya， Kotaro Bokuto， and Kiyoomi Sakusa the germiphobe） and his first game just so happens to be against the Schweiden Alders （they got Tobio Kageyama， Ushijima Wakatoshi， and Korai Hoshiumi）。 Familiar fan favorites are on both sides， but the biggest rivalry is between Hinata and Kageyama， finally on opposite sides of the court after 5 years。And to witness this long awaited battle， old teammates， old friends， and old rivals start sprouting from the woodwork to watch the game。 Daichi and Suga and Asahi and Tanaka and Tsukki and Yamaguchi and Yachi and Kiyoko and Takeda-sensei and Coach Ukai and Osamu Miya and Akaashi and Kenma and ALL MY BABIES HAVE GROWN UP！ I didn't even finish the list。（view spoiler）[But the hilarious part is there's a Brazilian player on the Schweiden team， Nicolas Romero。 Hinata and the rest of his generation watched this dude on tv so he's basically their volleyball celebrity。 But even as Hinata is going starry-eyed for this guy， Nicolas recognizes him too， as Ninja Shoyo the beach volleyball player。 （hide spoiler）]Even after 43 volumes， this series still gives me the feel-goods in my brain-space。 I don't want it to end。This series has 45 volumes。 。。。more
